Home Remedies For Constipation

Constipation in children may be treated with suppositories, and although constipation relief for babies and children may be achieved with  home treatments, they should only be applied upon consultation with your doctor. For mild constipation relief during pregnancy it would be best to avoid using tablets and instead try home treatments like specific foods or even suppositories.
SOME OF THE HOME REMEDIES FOR CONSTIPATION ARE:-
  • Drink a cup of ripe tomato juice it will help cleaning your bowels.
  • Soak fenugreek seeds in the night and chew them every morning and evening.
  • Swallow 1-2 teaspoon of Castor oil quickly on an empty stomach and then see its magic.
  • Consumption of fruits like pear, guava, grapes, papaya, figs, orange in your regular diet are also beneficial in the treatment of constipation.
  • Drinking Black grapes soaked overnight in water also help in cleaning your bowels.
  • To stimulate your bowels one should eat high fiber food such as Beans, Potatoes, Carrots, Whole-wheat bread, Brown rice, Broccoli etc.
  • Beans are not only good for your heart; the more you eat them, the less likely you are to experience constipation
  • Raw spinach juice mixed with an equal quantity of water and taken twice daily, will cure constipation within a few days.
  • One can also consume cabbage juice,  it has high fibre cbontent which will help your bowels function normally. Drink 1 cup of cabbage juice atleast 2 times a day before meals.
  • Half a lime, squeezed is a glass of hot water, with half a teaspoon of salt is also an effective remedy for constipation.
  • Other effective home remedy for constipation is, before sleeping drink a glass of warm water with a pinch of salt.
  • Drinking lots of water atleast 10 glasses a day, helps to moisten the intestines so that the bowels move easily.
  • Drinking water which has been kept overnight in a copper vessel, first thing in the morning, brings good results.
  • Drinking a glass of hot water is also known to stimulate bowel movements but this may not suffice in severe cases of constipation.
  • Physical activity is known to help reduce the risk of constipation and practicing yoga can thereby enhance your digestive systems functioning and eliminate or at least reduce the occurrence of digestive disorders like constipation.
  • For severe constipation a cup of apple juice is good.
