Home Remedies For Heartburns And Acidity

Acidity is a problem that occurs very commonly; so going in for allopathic medications every time doesn’t seem to be a very good thought. Some home remedies are very effective in the treatment.The usual signs of heartburn are a burning sensation or pain in the stomach after one to four hours of a meal.  
Skipping meals, not eating on time, fried and spicy food, stress, anxiety, insomnia, obesity, pregnancy, smoking, alcohol, and wearing tight clothes can give you hyperacidity and heartburn.
SOME OF THE HOME REMEDIES FOR  HEARTBURNS AND ACIDITY ARE:-
  • A cup of vanilla ice cream or a glass of cold milk also helps to get relieve heartburn and acidity within minutes.
  • A piece of gur also known as jaggery after every meal prevents acidity.
  • Cucumber raita with coriander leaves and tomato helps in digestion and eliminates acidity.
  • Cut a lemon sprinkle some salt on it and chew for a while.This can be done before every meal to avoid heartburn also one can try juice of one lemon mixed in half glass of water and ½ teaspoon sugar if consumed before meals helps to relieve acidity.
  • Chewing Holy basil leaves also gives relief from burning sensation and gas.
  • Drinking coconut water also decreases acidity.
  • Boil 1 cup of water, then add 1tbsp of saunf and leave it overnight then strain the water and mix it with honey and consume.
  • Half a glass of fresh pineapple juice should be taken after a meal for treating and preventing acidity.
  • A very simple remedy for acidity is thin butter-milk mixed with 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper powder.
  • The juice of onions is an excellent remedy for acidity.
  • Drink plenty of water at least 6 to 8 glasses per day and other fluids to maintain the acid balance in the stomach.
  • A sherbet made with kokum and jeera gives relief from acidity.
  • Eat almonds to give relief to symptoms of acidity.
  • Bananas, watermelon and cucumber have protective action against the acidity and heart burn.
  • Eat papaya before meals or at first sign of symptoms for heartburns.
  • Aloe vera juice is widely used as a natural home remedy to ease heartburn. This green juice is highly alkaline, thus it can neutralize excess of stomach acid.
  • Ginger is to be one of the most powerful natural remedies for heartburn.
  • Chewing gum in-between meals is another way to reduce the risk of getting heartburn, though sugar free varieties should be used.
  • Drink Cabbage juice in the morning on empty stomach to get best results.
  • Baking soda is among the oldest and most well known home remedies for heartburn. Try about a 1/2 tbsp dissolved in a glass of water. If you find this dosage doesn’t work as effectively as you would like increase the amount of baking soda you use next time.
