Home Remedies For Dog Bites

A dog bite can happen at any time, even from the gentlest dog.Dogs are still animals and if you provoke them in any way they may lash out and bite. This is especially scary with kids as they don’t always realize their limits and they frequently are the victims of dog bites. In dog bites, rabies is very dangerous if the dog is foaming from the mouth is a sign of rabies. One should demand  from the dog owner proof of immunization or else the animal should be caught and tested for diseases. In case of a dog bite consulting a doctor is advisable there are few home remedies that can  be used in conjunction with medications that you receive from a doctor.

 SOME OF THE HOME REMEDIES FOR  DOG BITES  ARE:-

• The first important thing one must do is to wash the part with warm water continously to get rid of dog’s saliva which can lead to an infection.
• Apply a mixture of asaefoetida with water it will help heal the bite faster. Also sprinkle some asaefoetida powder on the bite to reduce swelling.
• Apply a mixture of turmeric and honey to the wound. The antiseptic properties of turmeric and the soothing properties of honey will help heal the bite faster.
• Make a herbal mixture by grinding together 3 walnuts, some salt and an onion. Apply this paste to the wound and bandage it up. This mixture works as an anti-poison remedy.
• Consume 3-4 flakes of garlic three times a day till the wound is not completely healed.
• One can also grind about two teaspoons of cumin seeds and 20 black pepper corns with water. and apply the mixture on the dog bite wound.
• Goldenseal tea the first day is very good for dog bites (not advisable during pregnancy) if applied  directly also on the bite is helpful as a natural antibiotic.
